Description

The outcomes of Grade 3 students using Reading Mastery are examined in this report. Students attended a diverse school in Alaska, where teachers implemented several Direct Instruction (DI) programs at all grade levels. After using Reading Mastery for one year, 43% of third grade students met or exceeded reading standards, up from 27% the previous year. Three years later, the rate increased to 65%. The report also discusses the successful implementation of DI programs at the school.
