10 Fun Things To Do In College If You Don't Drink


As a college student, you probably have friends that enjoy partying and drinking. That’s perfectly fine, but if that scene isn’t for you, here are some activities you can do that are just as fun.


Get the gang together and fight it out over some board games, trivia, charades, or cards. You can also have people bring snacks and sodas and listen to some music while you play.

    Whether you have some friends over to watch a marathon of your favorite movies and shows or go to the theatre to see a new release, movies are always a great way to relax and have fun.

    Intramural sports are one of the great things about college. Even if you weren’t an athlete in high school, you should give them a try. It’s a great way to stay active and meet new people. Plus, there’s no pressure because the games are just for fun.

    When it comes to a new hobby, you can try numerous things like sewing, crocheting, drawing, scrapbooking, a new sport, exchanging letters with a pen pal, or whatever your heart desires. YouTube and Pinterest are your best friends when it comes to this. There are endless tutorial videos and articles out there to get you started and to give you inspiration.
  5. Go Hiking or Biking

    Get a group of friends together and go visit a spot you’ve always wanted to or do some research and find some cool places near you. There are plenty of hiking trails and parks you can visit, so get out there and explore.
  6. Take a Walk

    There’s nothing better to clear your head than a nice walk. You can stroll alone or with a group. It can serve as a study break and will enhance your productivity when you get back because the increase in blood circulation promotes brain activity.

    Reading never goes out of style, and there are plenty of genres for everyone. So next time when you need a break, curl up with a good book and let your mind drift into the world between the pages.

    There are plenty of different clubs that you can join for almost every interest. You can meet new people, participate in fun activities, and maybe even earn some community service hours.

    There are plenty of activities and events happening on campus for students, which can range from movie nights to craft sessions, to cultural celebrations, to concerts, to interesting talks or presentations. It’s a great way to meet new people and to try new things.
  10. Volunteer

    Right now, you’re probably thinking “Did I read that right?” Sure, volunteering your time may not sound fun, but it can be, and it’s also very rewarding. It feels great to be able to help those that need it and make a difference in your community. Some places that you may consider helping out are nursing homes and food pantries. You can even volunteer to read books to children at your local elementary school or gather supplies for troops overseas. The options are endless. Plus, you will get a chance to have new experiences, explore your city, and possibly satisfy community service requirements that you may need to graduate as well.
