Margaret H. Christ, PhD, CIA, is Director of the J. M. Tull School of Accounting and holds the J. M. Tull Chair in Accounting at the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia. Her research examines management control systems, including how control systems and incentive compensation influence employee behavior, the implementation of controls in inter-organizational settings, and internal audit practices.
Her work has been published in leading journals such as The Accounting Review, Contemporary Accounting Research, Accounting, Organizations and Society, and Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory. She has received numerous awards from the American Accounting Association, including the Deloitte Wildman Medal and the Accounting Horizons Best Paper Award.
Dr. Christ serves as an editor for The Accounting Review and Accounting Horizons and has contributed to professional initiatives with organizations including the American Accounting Association, the Institute of Internal Auditors, and the AICPA.
She teaches accounting analytics and has developed case-based curriculum focused on data analytics and visualization across accounting domains. She and her coauthors received the 2020 Innovation in Accounting Education Award from the American Accounting Association for their work on the data analytics mindset.
Kip Holderness specializes in cost accounting, business valuation, and forensic accounting, with expertise in internal control systems and the application of artificial intelligence and data analytics in accounting. He serves as Director of Research for the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) Research Institute.
His research has been published in leading accounting journals, including Accounting, Organizations and Society and Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory. He is coauthor of Cost Accounting: A Data Analytics Approach (McGraw Hill), which integrates analytics into managerial accounting education.
Holderness presents nationally and internationally and has consulted with law firms on accounting and valuation matters. His current research examines AI-enabled auditing, artificial intelligence in performance evaluation, fraud analysis, and ethical decision-making.
He earned his PhD from Bentley University and his MS and BS from Brigham Young University. His work has received multiple awards from the American Accounting Association, including the AICPA-CIMA Impact on Management Accounting Practice Award.
Vernon J. Richardson is a distinguished professor of Accounting and the G. William Glezen chair in the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas and a visiting professor at Baruch College. He received his BS, Master’s of Accountancy, and MBA from Brigham Young University and a PhD in Accounting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has taught at top universities across the U.S. and internationally, including institutions in China, Denmark, Australia, and Ghana, bringing global insight to his instruction. Dr. Vern Richardson is a distinguished accounting scholar and textbook author who has served in key editorial roles and published extensively in top academic journals. He specializes in data analytics and information systems, coauthoring widely adopted textbooks that bridge theory and practice in accounting and business analytics.
