Test Scores in Fayetteville Increase with Standards-Based Mathematics

Following adoption of Everyday Mathematics, 85% of Fayetteville's Grade 4 students scored at or above proficient on the Arkansas Benchmark Exam, surpassing the statewide average of 78%. District leaders credit the program with strengthening conceptual understanding and supporting lasting achievement gains. Fayetteville School District serves nearly 8,500 students in northwest Arkansas and adopted the program as part of a long-term initiative to align mathematics instruction with state and national standards, supported by a districtwide pilot, ongoing professional development, collaborative teacher support, and classroom manipulative kits.
