Description

The Number Worlds program is a research-based math intervention curriculum designed for students in Grades PreK–8 to develop mathematical proficiency. It emphasizes hands-on learning, conceptual understanding, and computational fluency to help struggling students catch up to their peers. The program incorporates diagnostic screening, adaptive learning, project-based activities, and ongoing assessments to ensure personalized instruction. Number Worlds includes prevention levels (A–C) for foundational skills in PreK–Grade 1 and intervention levels (D–J) for Grades 2–8, covering topics like number sense, operations, geometry, and algebra. The curriculum is supported by Building Blocks Adaptive software, which uses learning trajectories to guide students through developmental stages of mathematical understanding. Research demonstrates its effectiveness in improving math skills, particularly for at-risk students, enabling them to meet rigorous state standards. Educators report positive outcomes, including increased student engagement and improved teaching practices. The program also integrates project-based learning principles to foster problem-solving, collaboration, and self-directed learning.
