Student achievement steadily improved after Aurora East School District 131 adopted Everyday Mathematics, with 82% of Grade 3 students and 74% of Grade 5 students meeting or exceeding Illinois mathematics standards, surpassing statewide averages across multiple student groups. The district, which serves approximately 11,400 students in a community with a large population of English learners and bilingual classrooms, adopted the program to establish a consistent elementary mathematics curriculum, supporting implementation with extensive teacher training, instructional coaching, pacing guides aligned to state standards, and Spanish-language editions of the program.
