Description

The percentage of students meeting Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) standards rose across Grades 3–5 after Dallas Independent School District adopted Everyday Mathematics districtwide, even as state performance expectations grew more rigorous. Dallas Independent School District, one of the nation's largest school systems with approximately 160,000 students, adopted the program across Grades K–5 after successful pilots demonstrated improved learning, drawn to its emphasis on real-world problem solving, conceptual understanding, and alignment with National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) standards.
