Committed to Staff Development in Montgomery County Public Schools

Grade 3 mathematics pass rates on Virginia's Standards of Learning (SOL) assessment rose to 76% and Grade 5 pass rates rose to 63% after Montgomery County Public Schools adopted Everyday Mathematics, creating greater consistency across schools. Montgomery County Public Schools, serving more than 9,000 students across southwest Virginia, adopted the program to establish a consistent, districtwide elementary mathematics curriculum, with implementation supported by a National Science Foundation grant, extensive teacher professional development, university partnerships, and ongoing coaching focused on strengthening mathematics content knowledge.
