Anchorage School District Earns Council of Great City Schools Honor

Anchorage School District students saw strong math performance after implementing McGraw Hill Everyday Mathematics districtwide.

Description

After adopting Everyday Mathematics districtwide, Anchorage saw 75% of Grade 3 students and 68% of Grade 6 students score at the Advanced or Proficient levels on the state's mathematics benchmark assessments, while the share of students completing Algebra I before high school rose from 18% to 28%. Alaska's largest school district, serving more than 48,000 students, adopted the program to strengthen conceptual understanding and improve long-term achievement, supported by extensive teacher training and curriculum support.
