Description

A large, diverse urban-suburban public school district implemented Achieve3000 Literacy to improve reading outcomes for upper elementary and middle school students. Over 5,400 students in grades 2–8 used the program continuously from 2020 to 2025. The district, which serves approximately 11,000 students and maintains a 95% graduation rate, sustained consistent program engagement throughout this period, with students averaging around 90 logins, 57 activities, and 24 program hours annually.

Results showed that students using Achieve3000 Literacy substantially outperformed expected Lexile growth benchmarks across all grade levels, with the strongest gains observed in the 2024–2025 school year. Students with high engagement—measured by an Average First Try Score (AFTS) of 75% or higher and the completion of 40 or more activities—recorded significantly larger Lexile gains than lower-engagement peers. For instance, students at the highest fidelity level achieved an average Lexile increase of 200L compared to an expected 41L, representing more than four times anticipated growth.  The proportion of students using the program at high or highest fidelity increased over time, and average first-try scores remained above 75% for all years analyzed. These results suggest that consistent, high-quality engagement with Achieve3000 Literacy corresponded with measurable literacy advancement among elementary and middle school learners.  Achieve3000 Literacy supports grades 2–12 through adaptive, differentiated reading materials tailored to each student’s Lexile level. The program’s personalized approach and long-term usage in this district highlight its role in accelerating literacy growth, helping students progress toward college and career readiness benchmarks.
