Description

SRA Intervenciones tempranas de la lectura is a Spanish-language reading intervention for at-risk students, including native Spanish speakers and non-native speakers in immersion programs. It offers 120 systematic lessons in phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, fluency, and comprehension, tailored to Spanish orthography and developmental reading sequences. Using explicit instruction and scaffolding, the program ensures success without assuming prior skills. Research validates its effectiveness in improving literacy, with significant gains in fluency, comprehension, and decoding for struggling readers, including those with dyslexia. Integrated assessments, decodable texts, and vocabulary development support learning, helping students close achievement gaps and achieve grade-level fluency. Federally funded studies in Florida and Texas demonstrate its impact across diverse populations.
