Whether it comes to making the game-winning shot in a tight basketball game or pushing extra hard to achieve a personal record in a race, your performance will reflect your practice. Just like sports, to achieve academic success, there must be the element of repetition. Midterms can be overwhelming, as we all know….it is an exam and a huge exam covering months of lectures, textbook material, and homework covered in the course. Many procrastinate studying for midterms because they don’t know where to start or they don’t know what material will be tested. This is where Connect comes in. Connect may be assigned for homework or assignments, but even if it is not required or graded, it will become your best friend when studying. Connect pulls the important information directly from the textbook and allows students to answer practice questions until mastery.

Of course, doing Connect for homework and quizzes is essential and often required for your grade, but coming back and using Connect as a study tool can really benefit you. I took Financial Accounting in the Spring Semester of my freshman year, and while I am a business major, I am most definitely not an Accounting major. The information in the course was cumulative, and it seemed so overwhelming to study for. I remember feeling extremely overwhelmed by the textbook finding it extremely difficult to read. I turned to Connect, which pulled the essential information and questions straight from the book and allowed me to practice them until I consistently answered them correctly. Connect alters to each individual user, and it repeatedly asks you the questions you get wrong until you get it right. My favorite feature is if you don’t know where to begin, there is a tool that takes you right to that spot in the textbook that discusses the material from that question!  I used Connect to my full advantage in that class, and I not only ended with an A but got one of the best exam scores out of everyone in the class.

Anytime I learn we will be using Connect as a learning platform for a class, I get excited as it is my favorite learning tool. It is easy and straightforward to use, and extremely effective when it comes to learning. My favorite way to study is to spend 30 minutes a day on each class, run through my notes, utilize Connect, and do this for several days leading up to the exam. It takes time and perseverance to perform successfully in your midterms, but you can do it! Remember, think smarter, not harder, and use Connect for academic success.
