Jana Thompson

Jana Thompson was named Interim President of McGraw Hill’s School group in July 2026 after serving as Chief Product Officer, School since February 2022. In her role overseeing the School group’s product, strategy and go-to-market operations, she is responsible for developing programs, technology and services that support PreK-12 educators and students around the world. During her 12 years in leadership roles at McGraw Hill, Jana has overseen some of the largest new product introductions in the company’s history and the architecture of a K-12 AI strategy that builds on years of developing data-driven, personalized solutions for educators that have fueled the company’s long-term growth. Jana has worked in educational technology for over 25 years in leadership roles in product management and technology at McGraw Hill and Pearson. She also led client services and product development for SchoolSuccess, a start-up focused on early childhood assessment technology and curriculum solutions, and subsequently led the integration of that business into Pearson after its acquisition.

Jana holds a BA in Communications from Penn State University. She lives in Columbus, Ohio with her husband and two children.
