Part of the excitement of being the Portfolio Manager for Nutrition at McGraw Hill is listening to our instructors across the country who use NutritionCalc Plus, our diet analysis tracking software. Over the past few years, we’ve heard comments from our users that NutritionCalc Plus needed a refresh in style, substance, and usability. I am excited to share that the new NutritionCalc Plus is now LIVE!

The new NutritionCalc Plus makes tracking and analyzing food intake and activity so much easier. We’ve updated our database of food choices to more than 106,000 foods and, as always, fueled by ESHA Research. The new database is comprised of data from manufacturers, restaurants, grocery stores, literature sources, and the latest USDA Standard Reference for precise, accurate data. Our instructors have asked for more brand names, restaurants, and cultural food options. This new database has been delivered!

We have also added another gender selection to NutritionCalc Plus: non-binary. The team at ESHA created this option based upon the standard nutritional guidelines for an adult. It was important to us to have a third selection for gender, and as the nutrition science of non-binary, transgender, and other genders evolve, so will NutritionCalc Plus.

When we asked instructors how we could make NutritionCalc Plus better, our instructors absolutely came through! Your input helped us create the most accurate and productive diet analysis tool for students. NutritionCalc Plus now has a sleek new design and was created to be mobile-friendly. We now have a web-based app for tracking on-the-go! A web app was our number one request from instructors, and we are so proud to have been able to provide it.

Another huge request from users was to include avatars for students. We’ve added hundreds of new avatars, specifically created for NutritionCalc Plus, including a gender-neutral set. Inclusion and diversity were front-of-mind when redesigning the website, and it was important to make avatars that represent students of all backgrounds.

We are thrilled that NutritionCalc Plus has been updated and even more excited to hear how we can continue to evolve this fantastic product in the future! Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have thoughts or questions on the new NutritionCalc Plus.
