Supporting Educators is our Passion

As a team member of McGraw-Hill, I have worked in the Life Sciences and Health Professions groups for the past 17 years. I absolutely love supporting instructors who are responsible for educating future professionals in the fields of anatomy and physiology, biology, microbiology and health professions. Throughout this time, I have watched the educational landscape change quite dramatically. The major changes include the shift from print to digital, the rise of open enrollment at community colleges, surge of enrollments with a focus on diversity, decline of financial resources at universities and colleges, increase of physical demands on the system (buildings and people), proliferation of online courses, and finally the ubiquity of the mobile phone (a student favorite). Phew!

One constant I have admired throughout the past 17 years is the expertise and knowledge of the passionate educator. Today’s educator views teaching as more than just a profession, job or career. They want to make a difference—and that is what is so inspiring. In my opinion, each of these educators is a true hero. They are challenged to navigate their institutional constraints, maximize available resources, and captivate their students’ imagination and desire.

Throughout the upcoming weeks, I will highlight elements of a program we call Support at Every Step. When you adopt one of our Life Science or Health Professions titles, you will gain complimentary access to our instructor resources. Here you will find a range of assets, including:
