Q: I’m ready to adopt Connect for my course. What do I do?
A: Great! You’re on the road to higher achievement. Contact your Learning Technology Representative to get started here.


Q: My students and I are new to Connect and the first day of class is fast approaching. Help!
A: Our dedicated Implementation Consultants will partner with you and guide you and your students toward success with Connect. Implementation Consultants offer personalized, one-on-one training and customized resources for you and your students.

Q: I’m new to Connect and I need personalized training. What resources are available to me?
A: Your Implementation Consultant provides you with a wide range of resources starting with:

  • a pre-training video to demonstrate critical steps you must take prior to training
  • virtual one-on-one training customized for you and your course
  • email support and training throughout your usage period with Connect

Q: I used Connect last semester, do I have to build my new course from the ground up?
A: No. With Connect you can easily reuse a previous course and all of its assignments by simply duplicating the course. You can duplicate the course and retain content, policies and start and due dates, or edit them as you see fit. Learn more here.

Q: My view of Connect looks different than the Student View. Why?
A: We never stop improving Connect. As an educational technology company committed to bringing you the absolute latest in cutting-edge innovations, we are continually updating and enhancing Connect features. We’ve rolled out an updated look & feel and advanced features to our student users. We are working on rolling this out to educators next.

In the meantime, your Connect account still works in sync with your students’ Connect account so that assignments, course resources and reporting are aligned across your course.

Connect FAQs for Students

Q: I'm ready to purchase Connect for my course. What now?
A: Obtain the course-specific URL provided by your instructor. You will be prompted to register using a registration code. If you do not have a registration code, you will have the option to purchase access to Connect online with a credit card.


Q: I'm trying to register for my course, but I don't see the Register Now button. Help!
A: In the event the Register Now button has disappeared and you see this message instead: Registration for This Section is Now Closed, this means that the registration period for your course has expired. Your instructor designated a timeframe for registration and the deadline has lapsed. Reach out to your instructor.


Q: Can I get Courtesy Access to Connect for 14 days?
A: Courtesy Access is available for select programs. If Courtesy Access is available for your course program and you are a new Connect user, you may register for Courtesy Access. This means that you will receive free access to your Connect course for 14 days.

Courtesy Access is particularly useful for students who are awaiting financial aid and for those who may drop the class.

Be sure to upgrade to full Connect access before the 14 day Courtesy Access period expires to avoid any delays in completing your coursework.


Q: How do I register for Courtesy Access?
A: Obtain the course-specific URL provided by your instructor. On the registration page click on the button marked: Start Courtesy Access.


Q: Help! My Courtesy Access period has expired and I forgot to upgrade to full Connect Access. Will my work in Connect be saved?
A: Yes. Simply login with the same username and password you used to register and choose to: Purchase Full Connect Access Here. You'll find that all your coursework has been preserved.


Q: I'm retaking a class. Do I have to register for Connect again?
A: Yes, you must register for the new section. Depending on your Connect program and your registration status you may not have to create a new account. Obtain the course-specific URL provided by your instructor, enter it into your browser and follow the prompts.


Q: I used Connect for another class. Do I have to register for Connect again?
A: Yes, you must register for the new section. Depending on your Connect program and your registration status you may not have to create a new account. Obtain the course-specific URL provided by your instructor, enter it into your browser and follow the prompts.


Q: What's the best way to login to Connect?
A: Obtain the course-specific URL provided by your instructor. Bookmark it within your browser and access Connect that way throughout the course.


Q: I'm taking multiple courses within Connect, and I've noticed that the interface looks different from course to course. What's going on?

This means that an updated look & feel and certain features are only available within the newest Connect programs and within select disciplines.


Q: How do I access Connect tutorials?
A: Login to Connect and click on the Help button that appears at the top right of the screen.

A: Connect features vary by program. Click here to explore innovative Connect features.


To-Do List

Q: What is the Connect To-Do List feature?
A: This is a feed that surfaces what you need to do next to improve your performance in your course.


Q: Does it show a complete list of my assignments and tasks?
A: No. The To-Do list only surfaces assignments due within the next 48 hours.

The list order includes late assignments first, then assignments due within the next 48 hours, then Recharge items (tasks recommended to promote long term memory retention of the concepts you've learned).


Q: Can I configure my To-Do list and add my own content?
A: No. This list is generated dynamically and can't be configured or edited.

Connect Calendar

Q: Is the Connect Calendar exportable?
A: Not yet, but we're working on it!


Q: Does the Connect Calendar generate reminders via text or push notifications?
A: Not yet, but we're working on it!


Q: Can I add my own content and updates into the Connect Calendar?
A: No.


Q: How will assignments without due dates be represented within the Connect Calendar?
A: An assignment without a due date will not show up on the To Do List or Calendar feature. To view these, students must visit the "Classes" page (i.e., the section home page) for that specific course/section to see all assignments (with and without due dates).


Q: Do assignments that require multiple sessions or attempts show up in the Connect Calendar?
A: Yes.

Connect Insight for Students

Q: What is Connect Insight for Students?
A: Connect Insight is a feature within Connect that offers you a peek into how you're performing in your course. Discover how you're progressing, how you measure up to your classmates, and even drill into your assignment to pinpoint where you are struggling. Insight also offers recommendations on what you should do next to boost your performance and inspire your achievement.

Q: How is "time spent" measured?
A: This indicates the time you spent completing your assignment. If you completed the work in multiple sessions or attempts, the total combined time will appear.


Q: I've used Connect in the past; can I access Connect Insight for Students for lapsed courses I've taken in the past?
A: No. You can only access Insight for the course in which you are currently enrolled.

Q: My Connect program doesn't include all of these great features you've shown me in the Features for Students section. Why not?
A: We never stop improving Connect. This means that an updated look & feel and certain features are only available within the newest Connect programs and within select disciplines.


Q: Although I'm purchasing Connect for my course, I still want a print version of my course content. What can I say? I'm traditional. What do I do?
A: No problem! The Connect Your Way program affords you the flexibility to learn in your own way. Here are your options:

  • Go all digital with Connect (this is your highest value option)
  • Go digital with Connect + loose-leaf pages, shipped directly to you. To select this option, login to the product and choose—at any time—to order a binder-ready, full-color copy of the course content at a low price
  • Go digital with Connect + loose-leaf pages, available at your bookstore. Pick up an access card to Connect alongside a binder-ready color copy of your course content at your local bookstore
  • Go digital with Connect + print textbook, available at your bookstore. Pick up an access card to Connect alongside a print textbook at your local bookstore.
