Q: How do I create a class?

Q: How do I view StudySync Library titles?
A: After launching StudySync, click the Library tab. From there, you have two options: 
1. Type a specific title, author, or keyword into the search bar.
2. Use the search filters on the left to explore our titles, just set your filters and click Search.

Q: How do I save a title to my Library for a future assignment?
A: Select the title you want, go to the "Overview" section, and click "Add to Bookshelf". To view the titles you have saved, select the "My Bookshelf" search filter.

Q: How do I create an assignment?
A: Go to the Library tab, find the title you want to assign, and click either Create a SyncTV Assignment or Create a Reading Assignment. You will be taken to a new Assignment creation page. Fill in the information and click "Create" at the bottom of the page. You can also make an assignment from under the "CORE ELA" units by clicking on the "Assign" button for the title you want to assign.

Q: How do I edit an assignment?
A: In the Assignments tab, select the “Edit” button next to the Assignment you want to change. Make your changes, then click “Update” at the bottom of the page.

Q: How do I reuse an assignment or borrow a colleague's assignment?
A: From your Assignments tab, click “Edit” next to the Assignment. Click the green “Use this Assignment for a New Assignment” button in the top right-hand corner, then choose a new target group to receive the Assignment. You can also modify your selections for the new Assignment.

To view and use a colleague’s Assignment, click the “Show All Assignments in School/Subscription” button at the bottom of your Assignments tab. Click “View” next to the Assignment you want, then click the green “Use this for a New Assignment” button in the top right-hand corner.

Q: How do I remove an assignment?
A: From the Assignments tab, select “Edit” next to the appropriate Assignment. At the bottom of the page, uncheck the “Is-active” box. Then, click “Update”.

Q: How do I create my own Library item?
A: Go to the Library tab and click the “Create Library Item” button. Fill out the template and click “Create” at the bottom of the screen. You can create a Library Item with text, images, and/or embedded videos.

Q: How do I view available rubrics?
A: From your Assignments tab, click the “Rubrics” button. Click on the name of the Rubric. To print the rubric, right-click on the pop-up with the rubric descriptions and click "Print" from the browser menu.

Q: How do I create my own rubric?
A: From the Assignments tab, click the “Rubrics” button, then click “Create Rubric”. Choose the desired setup and enter the appropriate information on the next screen. Click “Save Rubric” at the bottom of the page.

Q: How do I view a student account?
A: From the Students tab click “Mimic” next to the student whose account you want to view. Be sure to select “Stop Mimic” in the gray bar at the bottom of the page when you want to go back to your teacher account.

Q: How do I reopen a student's response to send back for revision or efforts?
A:  From the Assignment report, click the “date and time stamp” next to the student’s name. Select “Reopen to Saved”. ( NOTE: You cannot do this if the Assignment’s End Date has already passed.)

Q: What is a Blast leaderboard and how do I show it to my class?
A: A Blast leaderboard shows the 10 top-rated responses (based on average peer review score) in an assignment that is underway or complete. To show the leaderboard with live results to your class, under the "Assignments" tab, click on the "Actions" wheel to the right of the Blast assignment and select "Preview Assignment".

This will show the Blast, including the Top 10 Blasts leaderboard and QuikPoll, with live results. You can also update those results by clicking the refresh arrows in the upper right corner of the leaderboard or by refreshing your browser window.

Note: Students must review at least five other student Blasts and have their Blast reviewed five times before the leadership board will show results, even if you have set the limit for the assignment to a number lower than five.
