NEW YORK (June 26, 2017) – StudySync, powered by BookheadEd Learning, LLC, and McGraw-Hill, a learning science company, today announced a new addition to the repertoire of tools and resources that make up its comprehensive blended ELA (English Language Arts)/ELL (English Language Learner) program for grades 6-12. The new Unit Creator tool allows teachers to create their own unique, specialized units from scratch.

"We pride ourselves in giving teachers as much flexibility as possible in the ways they use StudySync, so we created this new tool in response to their requests," said Robert Romano, Co-Founder and CEO of StudySync. "Now they can select and combine the resources within our program into a complete custom unit that meets their exact instructional needs."

Teachers can locate the new "Create Unit" button under StudySync's Units Tab. The tool consists of a template that enables teachers to add multiple lessons from StudySync's curriculum libraries, selecting and customizing material from the program's stores of resources, as well as creating their own lessons.

Teachers can draw from StudySync's Blasts, Skills lessons, and text libraries. Teachers can select lessons from more than 1,200 fiction and nonfiction texts and text excerpts in StudySync's digital library. The collection of Blasts offer short reading and writing assignments based on timely, high-interest, real-world topics that prompt online debates with other students across the nation. And, StudySync's extensive Skills lessons offer standards-aligned, multimedia lessons that provide explicit, student-centered instruction designed to guide students toward mastery of key reading and writing concepts. Teachers can search for all of these resources by title and topic.

Lisa Carmona, Senior Vice President, School Group, McGraw-Hill, added, "StudySync has always made it possible for teachers to deliver differentiated instruction, and now users can drill down to the material they need to address each student's individual needs more effectively than ever."
