NEW YORK, N.Y. (October 18, 2018) - McGraw-Hill announced today it will embed new audio- and video-capture capabilities from GoReact into several digital course material offerings starting next year. The integrations are part of the learning science company's focus on providing powerful assessments in its McGraw-Hill Connect digital course materials that evaluate and measure high-level thinking and performance skills. By joining with GoReact, McGraw-Hill is able to bring students and instructors a new industry-leading tool to enhance the learning experience.

McGraw-Hill Connect, which uses adaptive technology to personalize the learning experience for students and help instructors become even more effective, has been shown to help improve student grades and retention rates. It is used by millions of students, and gives educators the flexibility to teach their course their way, while providing students with affordable, engaging products designed to help them meet learning outcomes.

The GoReact communication tools embedded in Connect course materials will make it simple for students to record presentations, speeches and audio clips in courses that require those as part of their coursework, including Public Speaking, Communication, Business Communication and World Languages classes. The tools allow instructors to easily provide feedback, assign grades, and also share recordings with other students in cases where they evaluate their peers.

Among the many features that GoReact adds to Connect is synchronous video through which a student or instructor can communicate live to the class. This facilitates communication activities and assessments in online learning environments that were traditionally face-to-face, for example group projects with students in different locations. Students can also get real-time feedback from their peers and instructors.

The new software will be available beginning in spring 2019 for several McGraw-Hill titles, including a new edition of the market-leading The Art of Public Speaking by Stephen E. Lucas.

"We are thrilled to add GoReact's powerful communication tools to our digital solutions because they will increase the value we're able to give students and instructors," said Scott Virkler, Chief Product Officer for Higher Education at McGraw-Hill. "These tools help instructors easily and accurately evaluate critical communication skills, which constitute one of the most desired qualifications employers seek in their potential hires."
