Meet Leslie Adkins

Sr National Achievement Specialist

Time at McGraw Hill: 18 Years

  1. Tell us a bit about you and your role at McGraw Hill.

    As a National Achievement Specialist, I am responsible for ensuring that all students receive equity in their educational experience. I am primarily responsible for intervention solutions for Special Education, Title I and Response to Intervention/Multi-Tier System of Supports (MTSS) populations for Grades PreK–12.

  2. What is the mission of the BLACK @ MH Employee Resource Group?

    The mission of BLACK @ MH is to foster personal and professional development opportunities through networking, mentoring, leadership and growth opportunities with a focus on the advancement of Black employees at McGraw Hill. We strive to nurture a safe working environment that embraces trust and acceptability of one’s culture, background, and professional growth expectations.

 

Meet Reshecia McNeil

Professional Learning Director

Columbus, OH

Time at McGraw Hill: 16 years

  1. Tell us a bit about you and your role at McGraw Hill.

    I am the Professional Learning Director for the Northeast Region. I manage a team of nine phenomenal Curriculum Specialists that support core instruction across our K–12 core product bookbag. In my role, I have the pleasure and privilege to partner with many schools and districts providing instructional support, professional development, and practical support for meeting the needs of all learners. I am an avid reader, puzzle solver and lover of music. My favorite vacation place is any beach.

  2. What activities/events does the BLACK @ MH ERG do?

    BLACK @ MH is a new ERG. We are excited to have the opportunity for us to come together as a collective group to collaborate, network and be social. We have several exciting events planned, including FUBU First Fridays, Mental Wellness tips, Black History every month, and guest speakers on various topics including financial empowerment and homebuying tips for people of color.

Meet Vicky Joe

Administrative Coordinator

Time at McGraw Hill: 6 ½ years

  1. Tell us a bit about you and your role at McGraw Hill.

    As a member of the administrative resources team, I provide administrative support and meeting logistical support for the Specialized Markets Team, Inside Sales Team, and the PLD Team.

  2. What advice would you give someone looking to start their own ERG at their organization?

    I would suggest that the group be crystal clear about their vision and purpose. They should be willing to honor and promote the group’s growth and influence at the company.

    As the Executive Assistant for Communications Strategy Team/Sales & Marketing, I support Senior Leadership Team members for the School group while planning and executing corporate events.

  2. Why was the BLACK @ MH ERG started?

    BLACK @ MH was started to create personal and professional development opportunities for BLACK employees through networking, mentoring, and sponsorship. BLACK also wants to celebrate and raise awareness through global black culture.
