Grades K–12
In 2022, a study was conducted to examine the relationship between students’ ALEKS mastery and their proficiency on state math assessments.
Key Findings:
In this study, student outcomes on the AzMERIT End-of-Course assessments were compared for schools using ALEKS and those that did not.
Key Findings:
ALEKS Adventure at Eastern York School District
ALEKS at Dover High School
During the 2021–2022 school year, an eighth grade class using ALEKS at Honey Creek Middle School achieved proficiency at nearly 3x their own rate from the prior year. Students who completed at least 85% of their ALEKS Pie demonstrated a proficiency rate 2.6x greater than their district peers.
After implementing ALEKS in the 2016–2017 school year, Raymond B. Stewart Middle School achieved the highest learning gains for the lowest 25% of students on the Florida Standards Assessment (FSA) for Math out of all Pasco County School District’s Title 1 schools.
During the 2014–2015 school year, seven in 10 ALEKS users at Harmony Public Schools achieved mathematical growth on NWEA MAP tests, and students who spent more time on the program were more likely to achieve growth.
After using ALEKS in the 2016–17 school year, third graders at RCMA Charter Schools scored 100% proficient in math on their state exams—one of only twelve schools in Florida to do so. Students who averaged 58.5 hours in the program increased their knowledge by an average of 37 percentage points.
From January to March of 2021, there was a positive correlation between time spent in ALEKS and post-mastery scores for middle schoolers at Olentangy Local School District. Teacher usage further suggested that ALEKS does not need to be assigned as homework for students to use it successfully.
