MH Assess - Manually Grade Assessments

With online assessments, when they include certain question types such as essay questions or short answer, these require you to manually score those questions. For more information on question types, refer to the MH Assess - Question Types article.

An alternative option would be to use the Class Scoresheet.

1. Launch your course.

2. Click on Assignments from the navigation menu.

For certain programs, you will need to click on AssessAssessment, or Online Assessment Center.

Then click on Assigned Assessments from the navigation menu.

3. Click on the Options menu icon in the Actions column and click on View Scores from the menu.

You can also click on the Assignment Name.

Or you can click on the to Grade link.

4. Click on the View Scoresheet link in the Student Work column.

5. Click on a Pending question.

6. Enter the Score you want to give the answer provided.

The entered score will auto-save when you click out of the field.

A. Enter any Comments you want the student to be able to view for the question.

B. Use the Student navigation arrows and drop-down to navigate between different student scoresheets.

C. Click on the Question Attempt drop-down to view the different attempts at the question if more than one was available.

D. Click the View Passage button to view the passage the student read to answer the question (if applicable).

E. Click the Example Response blade to expand the section. This would need to be added to the question before the assessment was assigned.

F. Click the Export button to Export Current Scoresheet.

G. Click the Close button to return to the assignment page.
