Master Code A Master Code is a series of 16 letters and numbers that a teacher redeems to gain access to the books and materials for their course.  A teacher should redeem both Student Edition and Teacher Edition Master Codes if they are available to the school and for the course.  A Master Code only needs to be redeemed once by each teacher using the content.  While teachers will register both Student and Teacher Edition Master Codes, teachers will not use up a license seat for Student Editions. If a teacher redeems a Master Code and receives the error: The Master Code you entered is not for ConnectED. Go to My.mheducation.com and create a class to redeem this product., this means the code is an Open Learning code. For steps on how to create an Open Learning class, refer to the Open Learning Platform Class Management Resources article. When a teacher registers a Student Edition Master Code, they are prompted to set an end date for their Redemption Code.  This is the date when the classes associated with the code will be released, the license seats are returned to the school, and the teacher will be prompted to generate another code. For steps on how to create a new Redemption Code, refer to the Create a New Student Edition Redemption Code article. Teachers will want to contact their Organization Administrator to obtain any Master Codes that are needed if the Available Products library is not enabled. If the teacher is unsure who their Organization Administrator is, please contact the K-12 Technical Support team. Note: Do not distribute Master Codes to your students. When you add a student edition Master Code to ConnectED as a teacher, it will generate a 12-digit redemption code. You can then provide this redemption code to your students for them to redeem on their accounts. Students will want to follow the article, How To Join a McGraw Hill Class and Redeem Content, for steps on how to redeem the redemption code.   Redemption Code A Redemption Code is a series of 12 letters and numbers which is unique to each teacher, course, and school year.  It is generated when a teacher redeems a Student Edition Master Code to their teacher account.  This code is what links a student account to be able to access the course book and the other materials for their class, such as animations and homework assignments.
