Actively Learn - Discussion Redirection

This article walks teachers through using the student redirection feature within Actively Learn.

If you have your students following along in class and want to make sure they don't miss an important part of the text, you can redirect them to a specific spot in the text. When you "move students here" in Actively Learn, students will be redirected to the line you specify in an assignment.

Note: This option is only available within assignments that have been created. For steps on creating assignments, refer to the Actively Learn - Create Assignments article.

1. Click Menu at the top-left.

2. Select the class you're doing the reading for.

3. Click on an assignment tile. Make sure students are also in the same assignment at the same time.

4. Highlight the sentence you want to move the students to within the text.

5. Click Move Students Here from the menu.

Students will get a pop-up within the assignment, redirecting them to the section of the text that you have highlighted. They will have 10 seconds to finish answering any questions or creating notes they were in the middle of doing.

The text that you highlighted will also show highlighted for students.
