COLUMBUS, Ohio (October 28, 2024) –  McGraw Hill, a leading global education company, today announced it is now accepting nominations for its 2025 Pathfinder Awards. The award recognizes one educator from each of the PreK-12, higher ed and post-graduate categories for innovative and inventive teaching, with each of the three winners receiving a $5,000 cash prize.

For the second year in a row, McGraw Hill will partner with CAST, a non-profit learning design, research, and professional services organization, to provide each winner with a 1-hour Professional Learning Consultation about inclusive, accessible learning design. A CAST Implementation Specialist will serve as one of the judges for the awards. CAST is a team of passionate educators, researchers, and designers dedicated to creating learning experiences that are accessible and inclusive for all. Known for developing the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework, CAST empowers educators and institutions to break down barriers in education, ensuring that every learner can succeed.

The McGraw Hill Pathfinder Awards seek to identify educators from the U.S. who are:

  • Pioneers in education who are breaking new ground in their approach to teaching.
  • Outstanding educators who think outside the box to help students succeed.
  • Individuals whose contributions have achieved positive learning outcomes for their students.

Educators may nominate themselves or can be nominated by another educator, administrator, student, family member or friend. They are not required to be a McGraw Hill customer. Entrants are asked to provide answers to a few questions and may also submit an optional video or photo to accompany the application. Judging will begin in late January 2025.

“We’re excited to celebrate innovative educators from across the U.S. who are redefining teaching, embracing creativity, and exploring new methods to unlock potential,” said Simon Allen, McGraw Hill CEO. “Through our Pathfinder Awards program, we aim to honor these visionaries and share their inspiring stories, highlighting the transformative power educators have in helping learners discover their unique paths to success.”

Nominations will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. ET on January 17, 2025, with winners being announced after May 1, 2025.
