NOTE: Boards & Beyond and/or First Aid Forward Users:

If you have a Boards & Beyond and/or First Aid Forward account, use the same institutional email address to sign up for your Clinical Reasoning account. Your accounts will be linked with McGraw Hill, and you will use the same password to sign into all accounts.

How to Login to Clinical Reasoning

In Clinical Reasoning, you have two options for accessing your institution’s subscription and registering for an account: 1) Temporary Access Link OR 2) Setting a password.

Here is how to register:

  1. Visit the Clinical Reasoning homepage: https://clinicalreasoning.mheducation.com (Note: You can register and sign in from on- or off- campus).
  1. Enter your institutional email address (e.g., firstname.lastname@university.edu). Your authentication is based on your email address, so you must use your institutional email address.
  1. Enter your first name and last name and select your profession.
  1. Choose your account creation method:
  • Receive Temporary Access Link: You will receive an email with a link to sign in. The link is temporary—it is one-time use and must be used within 24 hours.
  • Enter Password Manually: Set a password for your Clinical Reasoning account. If you have a Boards & Beyond and/or First Aid Forward account with the same email, the password you enter when registering for Clinical Reasoning will also be the new password for your Boards & Beyond and/or First Aid Forward account(s).
  1. Acknowledge the terms and conditions.
  1. Check your email and click on the link you receive to sign in:
  • If you selected Temporary Access Link as your sign-in method, click the link to be verified and sign in.
  • If you selected Enter Password Manually as your sign-in method, you will receive a link to verify your email. Clink the link to be verified and sign in. The verification link is only necessary the first time you sign in; next time, you’ll be able to just enter your password and sign in.
  1. You now have access to Clinical Reasoning.  After registering, users can sign in at https://clinicalreasoning.mheducation.com with a password or by requesting a temporary access link.
  2. Every 180 days, you must sign in at https://clinicalreasoning.mheducation.com using the temporary access link to re-verify your account and maintain your access to Clinical Reasoning.

I have an account in Clinical Reasoning, but I am getting an error when trying to sign in. What should I do?

    2. Enter your institutional email address and send a Temporary Access Link to your email. Please ensure you entered your institutional email address correctly with no extra spaces. You may need to check your junk/spam folder for the Temporary Access Link email.
    3. Your Temporary Access Link is one-time use and expires after 24 hours. If you need a new Temporary Access Link, return to Clinical Reasoning (https://clinicalreasoning.mheducation.com), enter your institutional email address again, and request a new Temporary Access Link.
