Connect
By prompting students to engage with key concepts, while continually adapting to their individual needs, Connect activates learning and empowers students to take control resulting in better grades and increased retention rates. Proven online content integrates seamlessly with our adaptive technology, and helps build student confidence outside of the classroom.
Learn MoreSmartBook
Available within Connect, SmartBook actively tailors content to the individual student- The more a student interacts with SmartBook, the better it gets to know what they know and what they don’t know, helping students to maximize study time. By providing students with a safe place to make mistakes, showing them the areas they need to work on most, and by giving them consistent, personalized feedback at the exact moment they need it, SmartBook helps them to bridge their knowledge gaps and come to class prepared.
Learn MoreAlgorithmic Problems
Algorithmic problems are auto-graded exercises using different numeric values each time a problem is served up to the student. This gives students practice in working a problem several times -- same question, but different numbers each time. This also deters cheating because each student in a class or lab receives a slightly different version of the problem and correct answer.
Personal Financial Plans
The assignable, auto-gradable Personal Financial Plans correlate with sections of the text and help students apply concepts learned. Case/fictional data, is used to protect the privacy of the students and to provide data since many students do not have enough financial history to complete the plans. The plans are also algorithmic, which means each student is assigned the same plan with a different set of numbers to reduce cheating and provide extra practice.
Personal Finance Video Series
Assignable, animated videos with 3 accompanying questions help students understand the key learning objectives. These dynamic videos are between 2-5 minutes in length are especially helpful to keep students engaged and those who would like additional review outside of the text. Videos are available with select Corporate Finance and Personal Finance titles.
Finance Prep Courses
Prep Courses cover the basic concepts in Math, Statistics, Accounting, Excel, and Economics, and are comprised of animated tutorial modules with quiz questions. Instructors can assign as homework or include for optional practice. Prep Courses give instructors more time in class to cover finance topics, and ensure that students do not get left behind.
Guided Examples
Guided Examples provide narrated and animated, step-by-step walkthroughs of algorithmic versions of assigned exercises, allowing students to identify, review or reinforce the concepts and activities covered in class. Immediate feedback is provided so students can focus on the areas where they need the most guidance.
