BUT WHAT IF-
This feature is designed to promote critical thinking by providing students with hypothetical variations on the fact patterns outlined in real cases. This feature takes advantage of what we were taught so regularly in law school: Change the factual context and the legal conclusion may well shift along with the fact pattern. The "But What If" hypotheticals should heighten students’ sensitivity to the importance of details in legal reasoning.
Case Excerpts-
Each chapter includes cases written in the language of the courts, representing a mix of case topics and jurisdictions. Each case also contains a critical thinking question and an ethical decision-making question. Critical thinking questions are based on an explicit model of critical thinking described and modeled in the first chapter.
