Students vary widely in their rate of progress, and it is not possible to say what is normal since it is self-paced. Most students should be able to complete two topics in ALEKS in an hour, depending upon the difficulty of the topic. Some might be able to complete as many as ten if the material is familiar to them. Focusing students on ALEKS progress by rewarding them for topics mastered within a class period can have a very positive effect on the rate of mastery.
