An Independent Use (IU) Master Account holder or a K12/Higher Education (HE) instructor or administrator may wish to manually request a knowledge check for an individual student. The procedure will vary depending on which of the two categories the user falls into.

Independent Use Accounts:

1. Log into the Master Account
2. Click on Progress Report under the Reports header (found in the lower half of the page)
3. Click on Request a New Knowledge Check under the More Options header at the bottom of the page
Note: This procedure can only be used to request a Progress knowledge check. It is not possible for an IU account holder to request a Comprehensive knowledge check.

Instructors and Administrators at K12 or HE institutions:

1. Select the student’s current class from the Class tab (administrators will need to first select the student’s current instructor)
2. Select the student’s account from the Student tab
3. Click on Assignments
4. Click on Request Knowledge Check under the Knowledge Checks header
5. Choose whether to request a new knowledge check that may be taken anywhere, a new knowledge check that may only be taken at the institution*, or assign a retake of a scheduled knowledge check assignment that has already been taken**
6. Choose whether to request a Progress knowledge check or a Comprehensive knowledge check
7. Click on Confirm at the bottom of the page

*The option to request a new knowledge check that may only be taken at the institution requires an administrator to have set specific or range of public IPs at the institution. If this has not been done, the option may still be chosen, but will be functionally identical to requesting a new knowledge check that may be taken anywhere.

**For the option to assign a retake of a scheduled knowledge check assignment that has already been taken, the choice of whether to select a Progress or Comprehensive knowledge check will still be enabled. This means that for the student to receive a comparable knowledge check to what the rest of the class took for that assignment, please confirm you have selected the type of knowledge check the original assignment was set to before clicking on Confirm.
