Q: If I clone and edit an assessment will it still be auto-graded?
A: Yes, all multiple-choice and tech-enhanced questions will be auto-graded. Written responses will still need to be graded by the teacher.

Q: Why are my students receiving 0 points instead of partial credit on multiple-select questions on benchmark assessments?
A: Students are awarded partial credit on benchmark test questions with more than one answer. For example, on a question with two correct answers, a student will receive 1 point if they select one of the two correct options and make no other selection. If they choose one correct answer and one incorrect answer, however, they are awarded 1 point but penalized -1 point, resulting in a 0 score.

Q: How do I view individual student performance data?
A: StudySync’s Gradebook tracks student data and provides recommendations for reteaching. The Gradebook is accessible from the Users tab and teachers can view data by class or individual student. View the Gradebook for one individual student by selecting Students in the navigation bar and then click on the Gradebook icon.

Q: How do I provide feedback to students?
A: Teachers can provide feedback to students from the Assignment Report in the Assignments tab. To view an Assignment Report, go to the Assignments tab and select an assignment. Click on the date and time stamp to view a student’s work. Teachers can share feedback, annotate writing responses, and grade the assignment using the rubric scoring option. Similarly, in the Tests section of the Assignments tab, teachers can provide feedback while grading assessments as well.

Q: What does an exclamation point inside a triangle mean?
A: The exclamation point icon appears whenever there is manual teacher scoring to be done. For example, when viewing assignments in the Gradebook, you might see an exclamation point inside a triangle that denotes there are written responses on that assignment that require manual scoring from the teacher.

This icon will appear to help guide you to the areas requiring your attention, including:

  • next to the test name in the Assignments tab, so you know a test needs manual scoring
  • in the row next to a student's name in the Test Report, so you know that the student's work has answers needing scoring
  • in the question number dropdown within an individual student's test submission, so you know what question to navigate to
  • next to the student score within the Gradebook, so you know if a score is complete when you are viewing assignments or test scores this way
