Share or copy K‑12 Connect sections to reuse content or collaborate with other instructors.

This article guides a teacher through sharing or sending a copy of a section to another teacher. Keep in mind, once a section has been shared or copied to another teacher, there is currently not a way to stop sharing that section.

Best Practices

  • Use the share and copy features after assignment creation to give other instructors access to your Connect section. Sharing retains your control over assignment editing, due dates, and policies while Copying provides a completely editable version
  • Choose Copy to send a standalone copy to other instructors
  • Choose Share to create a "link" allowing you to share assignments with recipients on an ongoing basis, and generate a report on assignment results (ideal for course coordinators)

Share Section

Sharing a section allows you to replicate your section for other instructors and to retain control over assignment editing, due dates and policies. Changes you make to your section will apply to the shared versions of that section. Changes made to the shared versions of the section will not affect the original.

1. Click on the Section options menu icon to the right of the section.

2. Click on Send to colleague from the menu.

3. On the Send to colleague pop-up, click the Share section button.

4. Enter the email address of your colleague(s) that they use to sign into Connect.

5. Click the Find colleagues button.

6. Click the Sections drop-down to change the number of sections you want to share.

7. Select the preferred policies radio button.

If you are wanting to share the section with multiple teachers and set the sections and policies in bulk, checkmark the teachers you want to set the options for and then hover over the bulk edit button.

8. Click the Share button at the bottom.

Copy Section

Copying a section allows you to copy your section for other instructors, but without any control over editing, due dates or policies. Changes you make to your section will not apply to the copied versions of that section. Changes made to the copied versions of the section will not affect the original.

1. Click on the Section options menu icon to the right of the section.

2. Click on Send to colleague from the menu.

3. On the Send to colleague pop-up, click the Copy section button.

4. On the copy section page, enter the email address the teacher uses to sign into Connect.

5. Click the find colleagues button.

6. Click the copy button.
