Careers and Basics of Health Science is your student's gateway to the exciting world of healthcare and the many career opportunities available. Based on the highly regarded Glencoe Healthcare Science Technology course, Careers and Basics of Health Science is a great foundational CTE program for anyone interested in a career in healthcare.


Program Details

There are 250+ healthcare occupations. Requirements vary widely from a certification to eight years or more post-secondary education and training. Careers and Basics of Health Science is your student's gateway to the exciting world of healthcare and the many career opportunities available. Renowned expert Kathryn Booth breaks the program into two complementary sections. The first half of the program introduces the student to the healthcare field and builds strong foundational knowledge of health care. The second half explores the careers themselves. Each chapter is written by an expert in the field, providing students with a front-row seat to careers in therapeutic services, diagnostic services, health informatics, support services, and biotech.
