The student data files are located in the textbook’s Online Learning Center. An executable file (.exe) installs the data files on students’ computers. The student data files need to be installed one time only. The students will then modify the information as they work through the course.

Follow the steps below to install your textbook data files.

Go to http://mhhe.com/medisoft.

Click on the data file corresponding to your textbook.

When your file download windows opens, click Run or Save the file to your Desktop.

When the download completes, you may need to Double click on the exe file to Run the data file installation.

On the License Agreement window, click the I Agree.

On the Setup window, click Install.

Once the installation completes, click Finish.

Important: In order for your Medisoft program to locate the data files correctly, hold down the F7 key on your keyboard and double click on the Medisoft icon.

Some Laptops require you to hold the Fn and the F7 keys.

Make sure you hold down the F7 key or the Fn + F7 keys until the Find Medisoft Database window appears.If F7 or Fn + F7 does not work, download the following zip file:Clear Medisoft Registry Items - extract the file and run it; If Windows requests permission to run, select Allow.

Enter the following path in the box: C:\Medidata and click OK.

The Open Practice window will open providing you with the practice name.

Make sure the correct practice is highlighted and select Ok to begin working in Medisoft.
