LTI Advantage - Error Code AS1

Issue:
Instructor or Student launches an assignment and encounters an error with code AS1-1, AS1-2, AS1-3 or AS1-4.

Resolution:
The issue will need to be resolved by an instructor. If you are a student encountering this error, please notify your instructor. 

This error indicates that the assignment is not properly linked. There are various reasons this may happen. For example, the assignment may have been hidden or unassigned when we attempted to relink it. Or, the assignment did not exist when the parent section was copied or shared. 

If you are using McGraw Hill Connect:

• Ensure your LMS course is paired with your correct Connect section. Open the LTI Advantage widget in your LMS course and click on Go to my Connect section. If your Connect home page opens to the right section, the section pairing is valid. 

• Please check to make sure there are no duplicate assignments in your LMS course. There could be another assignment with the same name that is working.

• If the issue is impacting several or all assignments, please try unpairing your Connect section from the LTI Advantage widget and then re-pair the section which will automatically attempt to re-link your assignments. 

• If there are no duplicates and re-pairing the course does not resolve the issue, please try deleting the assignment(s) from your LMS content area and the grade book and re-deploy the assignment. If you are using D2L, please make sure to select the option 'Permanently delete...' when deleting the assignment from the content area. 

If you are using McGraw Hill GO, Virtual Labs Direct or McGraw Hill eBook:

• Check in your LMS course to make sure that the assignment link is not a duplicate of another link in your course.

• Check that the assignment actually exists in the McGraw Hill section. If it does not, then delete the assignment from your LMS course and reassign it in McGraw Hill GO, Virtual Labs Direct or McGraw Hill eBook.
