Connect - Assignments with Unsupported Content

Identify and resolve issues with Connect assignments that include unsupported content.

In this tutorial, you’ll learn about unsupported content — material that is no longer compatible with Connect, such as questions that are no longer supported or questions that have been updated. McGraw Hill is committed to only offering fully compatible products, and actively working toward converting or removing this content for our Connect users.

A red alert indicator (A) appears under questions or assignments that contain unsupported content. Assignments with this type of content will not be accessible to students, even if you’ve already assigned them. You must remove any unsupported questions from the assignments that students have not started, and you can add the updated question or a replacement question.

Assignments containing unsupported questions will appear in the assignment list for your Section with the red indicator. Begin by clicking on the assignment name (B).

Note: If an assignment containing unsupported questions was shared with you, you will not be able to remove the questions yourself. Please coordinate with the colleague who shared the assignment to have the questions removed.

From the assignment options menu (A), select edit assignment (B).

Locate and take note of all the unsupported questions in case you want to add the updated version of the question(s) or add replacement questions, check their box (A) and delete all of them from assignment (B). Then proceed through the usual steps to review and assign the assignment.

Once you’ve deleted the unsupported questions and added replacement questions, it will appear in the assignment list without the red indicator (A).

Best Practices
  • If an assignment containing unsupported questions was shared with you, you will not be able to remove the questions yourself. Please coordinate with the colleague who shared the assignment to have the questions removed.
  • Remove all the unsupported content all at once for an assignment before it allows us to delete the unsupported questions (keep a record of the question titles that will be removed and the question order in case you want to readd the updated questions).
