Boards & Beyond EZProxy Institutional Subscription off-campus

Use EZProxy for off-campus Boards & Beyond access: authorize EZProxy IP, add stanza, log in via EZProxy first, and use EZProxy-modified links.

Can we use EZProxy to access our Institutional Subscription off-campus?

Yes. You will need the following prerequisites:

  • Boards & Beyond Institutional Subscription
  • Hosted or Self-Hosted instance of EZProxy

Be sure to let your Boards & Beyond contact know what IP address your EZProxy instance uses so it can be added to your list of authorized IP addresses. You will also need to add the Boards & Beyond Stanza to your EZProxy config file. 

Please communicate to your students that if they need to enter any direct Boards & Beyond links while using EZProxy to access their account off-campus, they must first log in via EZProxy using the standard link, and then in the same browser (a different tab is ok) they will enter the direct link but change the base URL so it’s being accessed through EZProxy. 

The most common time they will need to know this is when first signing up for Boards & Beyond, because they will receive a verification email with a direct link to the account setup page.

For example, a direct link might look like this:

https://boardsbeyond.com/institution/Institution_Name_6MV36S2E2

If using EZProxy, change the link to use your institution's EZProxy URL, like this:

https://boardsbeyond-com.proxy.library.YourInstitution.edu/Institution/Institution_Name_6MV36S2E2 

Please note, the student has to be logged into EZProxy with their browser before entering the modified link.
