K-12 Connect - eBook Not Launching from the Bookshelf

Troubleshoot issues when a K‑12 Connect eBook does not launch from the bookshelf.

Pop-up Blockers:
The most common reason users have trouble launching their eBook from the bookshelf is because they have a pop-up blocker enabled.  See below for instructions on how to disable your pop-up blocker for your browser/device combination.

Disable popups on Safari on a Mac laptop or desktop:
  1. Select “Safari” > “Preferences“.
  2. Click on “Security” at the top of the window.
  3. Uncheck the box “Block pop-up windows” to disable this feature.

Add trusted sites in Safari (this allows pop-ups for the specific web page you are on):
  1. Make sure the site you want to add is currently open in Safari. In the box, you will see the URL of the site you have opened.
  2. Select the drop-down menu to the right of that website and choose Allow to allow pop-ups only at this site

Disable popups on Safari on an iPad or iPhone:
  1. Launch Settings.
  2. Tap Safari.
  3. Under the General section, click the toggle next to Block Pop-ups to enable or disable the pop-up blocker. A green toggle indicates an enabled pop-up blocker.

Firefox:
  1. Click the menu button Fx57Menu and select Options.
  2. Select the Privacy & Security panel.
  3. Under the Permissions section, uncheck the box next to Block pop-up windows to disable the pop-up blocker altogether.
  4. A click on Exceptions… opens a dialog box with a list of sites that you want to allow to display pop-ups. 
  5. Type in: mheducation.com and click on the Allow button
