Highlight What Matters

Select any text to instantly highlight it. Choose from 4 highlight colors to color-code by topic, importance, or however you like to organize. You can also underline, box, or circle text for even more ways to call out key concepts. Want to move fast? Turn on Quick Annotations mode to rapidly highlight across the page with your selected color.

Add Notes in Context

Have a thought about a passage? Select the text and add a note — up to 3,500 characters — directly attached to that part of the book. Your notes appear right where you made them, so you'll always remember the context. Notes are indicated by a subtle dotted underline, making them easy to spot as you read.

Placemark Your Spot

Use placemarks to bookmark specific locations in your eBook — key definitions, important diagrams, or sections you want to revisit before an exam. Think of them as sticky tabs you'd put on a printed page, but without the bulk.

Stay Organized with the Side Panel

All of your highlights, notes, and placemarks are collected in one convenient side panel, organized by type. Each tab displays your annotations in book order from beginning to end, so you can quickly jump to any marked section. You'll see the selected content, the date it was created, and the highlight color at a glance.

Export Your Notes to PDF

When you're ready to review, select Export from the side panel to generate a downloadable PDF of all your highlights and notes. The export includes the highlighted text, book location, date, and highlight color — giving you a clean, printable study guide you created yourself. Perfect for exam prep or sharing key takeaways with a study group.

Synced Across All Your Devices

Everything you highlight, annotate, and placemark is automatically synced across your laptop, tablet, and phone — whether you're using the MH Bookshelf website or the ReadAnywhere app. Pick up right where you left off, on any device.
