General Recommendations

  • Bandwidth: Minimum 0.5 Mbps upload speed and 2.0 Mbps download speed
  • Resolution: 1024 x 768 or better


Connect Desktop Requirements

Supported Operating Systems
 
Connect is supported on Windows and Mac desktop devices. As a general practice, we support the current operating system and two previous.

The complete list of currently supported operating systems are: 
  • MS Windows 10+
  • macOS 13 (Ventura)+
  • ChromeOS: 104+
  • iOS/iPadOS: 16+
  • Android: 13+ (Tiramisu)

Supported Browsers

Connect is a browser-based application and is supported on Chrome, Firefox, and Safari browsers. Internet Explorer is not supported. 

The complete list of supported browsers are:
  • Chrome (latest version and two previous)
  • Firefox (latest version and two previous)
  • Safari (latest version and two previous) 
  • Windows Edge (latest version)


Connect Tablet Requirements

Students may access their New Connect courses and assignments (accessed via newconnect.mheducation.com) using tablet devices. 

Supported Operating Systems

New Connect is supported on iOS and Android platforms. As a general practice, we support the current operating system and two previous.
 
Supported Browsers
  • Chrome (latest version and two previous)
  • Firefox (latest version and two previous)
  • Safari (latest version and two previous) 
 
*NOTE:  While New Connect is accessed via browser, certain applications or assignments within New Connect may require an app download.

Applications requiring download:
  • ReadAnywhere

Certain assignments or applications within New Connect are not supported on tablet.

Unsupported assignments:
  • Quest
  • Proctored question bank assignments 
  • File attachment


Proctored Question Bank Assignments

Proctoring is supported on desktop only and only via Chrome browser. This means:
  • To take a proctored question bank assignment, students must be using the Chrome browser. Access is blocked on all other browsers. 
  • To access proctoring reports, instructors must be using the Chrome browser. Access is blocked on other browsers. 
  • Students and instructors will be required to download a Chrome browser extension in order to use proctoring. Users will be prompted to download the extension upon launching to the proctored assignment.
