Connect - Assignments with Manual Graded Questions
Work with assignments that include manually graded questions.
If you have a number of responses to grade in the assignments to grade area, this means you have assigned questions that cannot be automatically graded by Connect. You also may have adjusted credit and flagged a question for manual grading. If you assigned any essay questions in any of your assignments or flagged a question for manual grading, you will see a message in the assignments to grade area displaying the title of the assignment and the number of students to grade.
When a student submits an assignment with essay questions, they will not receive any points for the essay question until you manually grade their question(s) that require manual grading.
Below are steps to manually adjust grades for essay questions:
- Click on the title of the assignment under the assignments to grade area
- From the assignment activity tab, click on the show the grading queue button. A manual grading to-do list will display to the right. It will list all of your students whose responses need to be graded.
- Click on a student's name.
- The student's most recent attempt will display. All questions that require manual grading will display for this student.
- Enter a score and optionally add comments for each question. Click apply
- To grade the next student's submission, click on their name at the top (the green tab indicates the student you are currently viewing).
When you have completed manually grading your students' questions, their assignment grades will automatically be updated accordingly.
