Supported Operating Systems and Browsers for Connect

 

General Recommendations

Bandwidth - Minimum 0.5 Mbps upload speed and 2.0 Mbps download speed

Resolution - 1024x768+

 

Desktop Requirements

Connect is supported on Windows and Mac desktop devices. As a general practice, we support the current operating system and the two previous versions.

Currently supported: 

  • Windows 10+
  • MacOS 13 (Ventura)+
  • Chrome OS 104+
  • iOS/iPadOS 16+
  • Android (Tiramisu) 13+

 

Supported Browsers

Connect is a browser-based application and is supported on Chrome, Firefox, and Safari browsers. Internet Explorer is not supported.

Currently supported: 

  • Chrome (latest and two previous versions)
  • Firefox (latest and two previous versions)
  • Safari (latest and two previous versions)
  • Edge (latest version)

 

Tablet Requirements

Students may access their Connect courses and assignments using tablet devices.

Connect is supported on iOS and Android platforms. As a general practice, we support the current operating system and the two previous versions.


Test your system to see if it meets the minimum system requirements for Connect. Connect also runs a built-in system requirements tester each time you log in to the site. If there is a problem accessing Connect on your system, you will see a yellow pop-up message detailing the problem and offering possible solutions.

Currently supported:

  • Safari (latest and two previous versions)

Note: While Connect is accessed via a browser, certain applications or assignments within the platform may require an ReadAnywhere app download. There are also some assignments and applications that are not supported on a tablet so a desktop would be needed to access them.

Unsupported assignment types:

  • Quest
  • Proctored question bank assignments
  • File attachment

 

Proctored Question Bank Assignments

Proctoing is supported on desktop only and only via the Chrome browser. This means:

  • To take a proctored question bank assignment, students must be using the Chrome browser. Access is blocked on all other browsers.
  • To access proctoring reports, teachers must be using the Chrome browser. Access is blocked on all other browsers.
  • Students and teachers will be required to download a Chrome browser extension in order to use proctoring. Users will be prompted to download the extension upon luanching the proctored assignment.
