LTI Advantage and the REST API for LMS Administrators
Explore how LMS administrators use LTI Advantage with the REST API.
What is a REST API?
A REST API is a way to pass specific information between tools. In other words, it is a process that enables data from one source to either be sent to or pulled from a secondary source.
For any questions about McGraw Hill’s data and privacy policies, please view the Privacy Center.
How does it impact LTI Advantage for McGraw Hill’s integration?
Because of some limitations around what data can be provided through LTI Advantage, McGraw Hill is reliant upon the REST API for several integration processes. If the REST API is not enabled, this is the integration functionality that will not be available:
-
Updating the LMS if the instructor makes due date or point value changes in Connect
-
Relinking 0-point assignments in future terms
NOTE: The REST API is NOT installed at any Moodle institutions as Moodle currently does not support the functionality that we need.
What can I do to help get the REST API enabled at an account?
To begin the process of enabling the REST API, please have the LMS Admin contact the Platform Integration Consultant team via email: integration@mheducation.com.
