Wonders News!

Welcome back to school, Wonders community!

As you prepare your classrooms for the 2019–2020 school, we continue to support you, our wonderful Wonders community of teachers and school leaders!

Social emotional learning is one of the most important factors in predicting school success. We’ve been taking a deeper look at how we can teach the whole child. How can we develop a classroom culture that is respectful and values every member of our classroom community? How can we bring social and emotional learning to the surface of our daily collaborative conversations?

As you read and study the texts and Essential Questions in Wonders, we encourage you to find teachable moments in the texts to bring social and emotional learning to life in your classroom. Some of the social and emotional capacities addressed in Wonders texts include:

  • Identity
  • Creativity
  • Task Persistence
  • Care and Empathy
  • Belonging
  • Pro Social Behaviors
  • Resilience
  • Logic and Reasoning
  • Problem Solving
  • Feelings and Emotional Self-Regulation
  • Initiative
  • Self-control
  • Relationships
We hope you will find Wonders can support all students as they grow this school year and beyond!

All the best,
Brandon Harvey and John Slagle
