How-To: Grouping for Differentiation
The beginning of the school year is a great time to administer the Wonders Placement and Diagnostic Assessment to inform how you will group your students for differentiated instruction. From your Teacher Dashboard, click on:
  • Resources tab
  • Resource Library
  • Assessment option under the Keyword tab
  • Placement and Diagnostic Assessment under the Assessment results

For video tutorials on this assessment and grouping for differentiation, enter Quick-Start into the search bar in your online Teacher Dashboard to access the Quick-Start Course. Once you are in the course topic, select either the Create Small Groups module or the Week 3: Differentiated Instruction module, depending on which Wonders program you use.

Get ConnectED

In Your Own Words
“I love to use the fluency practice selections in the Wonders Your Turn Practice Book. I pair my readers so that they are closely matched according to their reading ability. They practice the reading passage as their partner encourages them and keeps them on track with the one-minute reading timer. They take turns and practice at least 3 times in a session. Then we celebrate their increased fluency. It feels like a game to them and they all benefit by challenging each other. I have witnessed great gains in oral fluency this year!”
