The Rincón cultural section includes activities (many revised) that reinforce the chapter theme, vocabulary, and grammar in creative, enticing, and contemporary ways.

Revised Lugares fascinantes para estudiar sections have been reformatted as blog entries from students studying abroad as they explain their impressions and adventures.

The Un artista, La Música, Un evento histórico, and Lecturas features have been updated to provide students the most contemporary view of the Spanish-speaking world.

¡Cuéntennos! vidoes feature unscripted interviews, most of them conducted with two people who share an intimate connection. All instructors materials are now available electronically with Connect Spanish for ease of access.

Available within Connect Spanish and as a mobile app, LearnSmart provides students with targeted feedback specific to their individual performance, and additional practice in areas where students need help the most.

Additional interactive activities using drag-and-drop functionality, embedded audio, voice recorders, and videos targeting key vocabulary, grammar, and cultural content for extra practice.

Voice Board and Blackboard IM, two powerful tools integrated into Connect Spanish, promote communication and collaboration outside the classroom.
