Overview of Texas Maravillas
Developing Bilingual, Biliterate, and Bicultural Students
Texas Maravillas provides a comprehensive set of resources to support K–5 Spanish language arts in your classroom. It was designed to help all learners honor and celebrate the richness of the Spanish language, Hispanic heritage, and multiculturalism while reflecting the experiences of a diverse student population, supporting in-depth instruction of Spanish foundational skills, and meeting the rigor of the TEKS.
To offer equity of academic content, the instructional plans, genre studies, themes, skills, strategies, and test preparation mirror those of Texas Wonders.
My hope for Texas students, including English Learners, is that they will receive outstanding English language arts and reading instruction to allow them to reach their full academic potential and excel in school and in life.
