McGraw-Hill Education Supports the Diverse Minds Youth Writing Challenge
At McGraw-Hill Education we know first-hand the power that literacy can have on our young people and the importance of teaching tolerance and diversity in the classroom. This year we're proud to support the 2015 Diverse Minds Youth Writing Challenge from B’nai B’rith International.
This creative literary contest encourages future college students or aspiring children’s authors/illustrators to hone their skills while promoting respect and appreciation for diversity. The winning author or team of the Challenge will receive a $5000 scholarship and also have their book published in an e-book format, which will be available for free download on iTunes, Amazon’s Kindle eBooks store and Google Play. As an added bonus, the teachers and schools of the winning student authors or teams will also receive prizes they can immediately put to good use on new materials for the classroom!
The Diverse Minds Youth Writing Challenge is an education and awareness initiative created by B'nai B'rith International to promote tolerance and communicate a message of equality among all citizens, regardless of race, religion, national origin, gender or sexual orientation. Already an established event in Washington, D.C., New York City and other major metropolitan areas, this year Diverse Minds launches in Columbus, OH – the location of one of our main education offices.
McGraw-Hill Education is filled with passionate advocates for anything that encourages students to expand their creative wings and respect diversity, so our Columbus-based employees are helping to get as many area schools involved as possible! The contest submission deadline is March 13, 2015.
