ONboard Series for Advanced Placement* wins 2014 CODiE Award for "Best Virtual Learning Solution"

We’re proud to announce that the ONboard Series for Advanced Placement* was honored with a 2014 CODiE Award for “Best Virtual Learning Solution” last night at the annual SIIA Education Industry Summit. ONboard was one of three McGraw-Hill finalists in the category, which also featured SmartBook and SCOREboard. The CODiE Awards, which recognize excellence in software development in the software industry, hold the distinction of being the industry's only peer-reviewed awards program.
"While AP enrollments are on the rise, the reality is that the vast majority of new AP class takers are not becoming AP exam passers. These students are unprepared for the rigors of college level coursework in high school," said Jeff Livingston, senior vice president of education policy at McGraw-Hill. "Nearly half of students who take AP exams fail, and an additional percentage of students who take the course never make it to the exam at all. The goal of ONboard is to better prepare students for their AP courses by providing them with the skills and background knowledge they need to be successful."
Developed with extensive input from an AP Expert Advisory panel, which consists of experienced AP teachers, workshop leaders and College Board consultants, ONboard is a robust, research-based program that is appropriate for students taking AP courses and for all students as an introduction or review of core topics. The program is available to schools via subscription and can also be purchased for individual student use.
Congrats to all of the other CODiE Award winners and finalists!
