Dr. Mark Vella has been involved in the field of health and fitness for more than 15 years, as a personal training instructor, lifestyle counselor and massage therapist, and is a practicing naturopath. He regularly lectures to fitness professionals on a variety of health science topics, including anatomy and physiology, kinesiology, health assessment, medical screening, fitness testing, training methods and principles, postural assessment, programming, exercise prescription and nutrition, and has been active in developing standards and manuals in his native South Africa. He is currently the National Medical Director for the Institute of Lifestyle Medicine, and a Senior Trainer in Health Science at the Cape Institute for Allied Health Studies.
